In 2018, the iconic story of “The Boy Who Lived” was created into a village series through a licensing agreement between Department 56, Warner Brothers, and J. K. Rowling. The Harry Potter Village has grown to include numerous buildings based on the adventures of Harry and his friends Hermione and Ron. All buildings and accessories are made of resin which allows for intricate detail. For the sake of reference in this collection, buildings and accessories have been grouped and categorized by their location in the story. The locations are Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley, Hogsmeade, Azkaban Prison, and The Muggle World.

In the summer of 2025, Department 56, in alliance with NECA offers A Room With A View: Harry Potter Gryffindor Common Room. The first edition diorama consists of 3,000 hand-numbered pieces. The coordinating accessory, which is sold separately The Trio Ron, Harry, Hermione (s/3) consists of scaled versions of Ron, Hermione, and Harry Potter.
